NCBAP COVID-19 Update

NCBAP announces further extensions for initial CACP certification and re-certification triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic.

We were hopeful that testing centers would be re-opening by now. However, due to recent upticks pertaining to the COVID pandemic, the NCBAP announces a further extension for examination deadline dates and ACE recognition expiration dates. Extensions are granted for individuals facing examination scheduling difficulties ONLY related to the pandemic. Please review the information below and contact the NCBAP Board only if one cannot schedule an exam date within the extension periods described below. If there is a question about the ACE program recognition dates, please contact the Anticoagulation Forum directly with your questions.

Initial Certification Examinations
All individuals who had an initial examination date scheduled on or after March 1, 2020 are granted an extension. Candidates will now have through December 31, 2020 to successfully re-schedule, and take, your exam. You will not incur any additional fees from NCBAP to re-schedule. However, individual testing sites in different states may have different exceptions in place and if a change fee is involved, the individual bears this responsibility.

Re-certification Examinations
For individuals whose certification expires between March 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021, the new re-certification date is now December 31, 2021.

For individuals whose certification is due after June 30, 2021, you will need to re-certify by your respective date and no extension is anticipated at this time.

The NCBAP encourages those who are able to take the exam within your stated initial certification period to please do so.

Should the COVID-19 pandemic impact testing access beyond June 30, 2021, we will revisit extension options at that time.

We thank you for your continued patience and interest. By taking this approach, the Board hopes to simplify and support clinicians as they navigate through this ongoing health crisis.

Please contact us at info@ncbap.org if you have any questions.
